One to One: Day 27
By Tracey Armstrong

John 3:34 For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. (NKJV)

Jesus prayed, “Father, let them be one even as we are one.” We have the same commission that Jesus had. We are sent in the Name of Jesus to finish what Jesus started. God sent Jesus to speak His word and we are sent to speak the word The of God.

We are living in a special time where God is sending His people into the world and anointing them for a special job. We must reconcile ourselves with the fact that we are sent to this world to be fruitful, multiply, subdue, and have dominion. The word “sent” is the word “apostello” (ap-os-tel’-lo); “set apart, i.e. (by implication) to send out (properly, on a mission) literally or figuratively.” Yes, this is where the word “apostle” comes from. I call this age the Apostolic Age, an age where every person must live with a commission, with a sending, and with a mandate. We don’t have any more time left to just play with the gospel; we have to become extremely serious; more serious about the Kingdom of God than we ever have been.

We must become apostolic in our thinking. We must face every day with a commission and with a purpose. You have a reason to live today and it is more than going to work and then returning home, eating, sleeping, and doing it all over again the next day.

You don’t work where you work because you couldn’t work somewhere else. I believe that you work where you do because God trusts you to reach someone at that workplace. This is also true of any other area of your life. There is someone at your bank, someone at the grocery store where you shop, on the street where you live, and in the family to which you belong.

If you faced each day with a commission to reach someone that you are sent to, you would see God move some incredible mountains. Make a difference by stepping into “the sending of the Lord.”

Father, I will go and do whatever You desire me to do. I know that You have sent me to reach my family, friends, and neighbors. I believe that I can be used to reach those people to whom You have sent me. Thank you for trusting me to touch Your people.

Don’t neglect the deed part of these devotionals, they are designed to help you produce a daily activity in your life that will challenge you and move you to the next level in your life. Determine that you will be faithful in taking part in the ONE Devotional Deeds.

Part two of this Deed is to realize that you are sent to someone and take the time to write down three names that you feel God has sent you to at this time of your life. Make sure that you have at least one person in each of the following spheres of influence: your family, friends, and neighbors.
