“Safe and Secure”

By Tracey Armstrong

Isaiah 26:3

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. (NKJV)

This scripture is so comforting. It is comforting to know that God is keeping us in peace. Peace has been provided for us, we have the right to have it! Thankfully our peace comes from God. This scripture is even more interesting when you look up the original text of the passage. It basically declares that God will guard us in safety when we frame all of our thoughts with Him as our refuge.

Everybody wants to be safe; all of us want a hiding place when things are getting hot. Well, God will be our safe place and God will be our hiding place, all we have to do to have Him take this place in our lives is think about Him in every situation. Wow! God really kept it all very simple for us, didn’t He? When we turn our thoughts to Jesus, He covers and keeps us in His wonderful peace because we trust that He is bigger than anything.

You have heard it before, when someone is panicking or afraid or even paranoid, someone will say either jokingly or seriously, “Think of a happy place!” Well, God is our happy place, Christ is our safe place, and the Kingdom of God is our refuge. We are like refugees running from earth into the heavenly realms to be settled at the right hand of God in heavenly places. Find your happy place by seeing yourself safe in Christ.

Father, You are my safe place, You are my strong tower, You are my refuge, and I trust You to be my deliverer.

Call or talk to someone that you feel needs to hear that Jesus is their refuge and tell them about this scripture and devotional. Make sure that you first pray for God to show you who you should share it with.
