One to One: Day 14

Job 33:19 Man is also chastened with pain on his bed, and with strong pain in many of his bones, (NKJV)
We all have been hurt in some way. We may have fallen down when we were young and scraped our knees, or maybe someone hurt us.
What do we do when we have been hurt? What should we do when someone has hurt us? Before we can answer these questions, we must ask ourselves why we even experience pain.
A healthy, undamaged body doesn’t experience pain. A scrape is painful only because the protective skin has been removed and the sensitive parts, the vulnerable parts, are exposed to all of the harmful elements floating in the air. Our body and soul have built-in systems that alert us that something is wrong.
Pain is the alarm signal of that system. So what do you do about the pain? In order to get rid of the pain you must bring healing to that damaged area. Many of us have been taught to simply be content and happy if we can subdue or silence the pain but silencing the pain does not release healing. We must be healed. Even doctors admit that medical science cannot heal; they say that the body heals itself. Aspirin can temporarily take away a headache, but the headache is not the problem, the headache is simply a symptom of something else that is wrong. The pain distracts us; we think that our pain is the problem, when actually our pain is a sign of trouble.
There are only two ways to get rid of the problem that causes pain. The first way is to receive a miracle; the second is to be healed. I believe that a miracle is instantaneous, and healing is a process. Healing doesn’t happen overnight. Healing comes from God.
Pain, whether physical or emotional, does not mean that I cannot be healed. Pain is only a sign that I have something to deal with. Father, please allow me to see the root of my pain. Once You show me what the cause is, I will trust You to be my miracle worker and healer.
Allow God to show you what is in your heart. If you see something that has been causing pain in your life, surrender yourself over to God and allow His healing hand to move on you. The more you interact honestly with God, the more He will be able to deliver and heal you. Pray for God’s healing and miracle power to touch the ONE on your prayer list.
